Chamber music lovers who also love the cinema may have been surprised and pleased to hear the chamber music of Arnold Schoenberg performed in a Hollywood blockbuster movie in last year’s acclaimed film, “The Woman in Gold,” about the Gustav Klimt painting, “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer.”

Adele Bloch-Bauer’s grand-nephew, Peter Altmann, is our host in a recital exploring the worlds of Gustav Klimt, the Bloch-Bauer family, the composers of Vienna, and the society they transplanted to Los Angeles. Soprano Christina Kowalski and pianist Keith Ward perform lieder by Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Alma Mahler, Arnold Schoenberg, and Eric Zeisl.
